Lighting Specialist

**Job Summary:**
The Lighting Specialist is the main contact for customers and outside sales in need of lighting design and support for projects. This role involves guiding customers through the lighting quotation process and providing efficient assistance.

**Responsibilities:**
- Create and present detailed lighting designs, including quotations, drawings, cut sheets, ROI calculations, and potential utility rebates.
- Support Account Managers in finalizing orders for assigned accounts.
- Close lighting re-design opportunities for unassigned accounts.
- Compile and prepare lighting job quotes.
- Identify necessary vendors/reps for projects and communicate requests and formal quotes accordingly.
- Review representative quotes and exceptions, aligning them with fixture schedules/requirements.
- Enter all formal quotes accurately, considering fixture schedule requirements.
- Collaborate with outside sales staff to determine discounts and final markups.
- Maintain the department's quotation log.
- Input project information into the quotes system upon receipt for submission.
- Attend product meetings, seminars, and training sessions to enhance knowledge.
- Advise on lighting product selection for different construction projects.
- Calculate lighting Bills of Material from blueprints/specifications.
- Negotiate pricing with lighting manufacturers and customers.
- Participate in team meetings to propose solutions meeting client needs.
- Act as a technical lighting resource within the branch and mentor the sales team.
- Analyze lighting quotations data to identify patterns of success or failure.
- Handle changes productively and perform additional assigned tasks efficiently.

**Qualifications:**
- College degree preferred; alternatively, a high school diploma with at least 2 years of lighting-related experience.
- Thorough understanding of lighting products.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a prompt and respectful attitude.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Proficient in prioritizing tasks and accurately performing mathematical calculations.
- Willingness to assist others as needed.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and clean DMV record.

**Physical Requirements:**
- Mainly sedentary role (75%).
- Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 25 lbs.
- Job conducted within a general office environment.
